2026/2027 Audit Prep Roadshow
September & October 2026
Presented by
This fall, AFOA BC is hitting the road with our in-person Audit Preparation Workshop Series—four one-day seminars held in key locations across British Columbia, designed specifically for Indigenous finance and administration professionals.
This interactive workshop will provide practical tools, strategies, and best practices to help participants prepare for the audit process with confidence. Learn how to organize for an audit, understand what auditors are looking for, strengthen internal processes, and prepare supporting documentation to help save time and reduce costs.
The afternoon session features updates from Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA), and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), who will discuss their reporting and audit requirements, common areas of focus, and what they look for in audited financial statements.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll:
✔️ Learn how to prepare for and manage the audit process from start to finish
✔️ Gain practical tips to improve audit readiness and strengthen internal controls
✔️ Better understand the reporting and audit expectations of ISC, FNHA, and CMHC
✔️ Access time-saving tools, templates, and proven strategies to reduce costs
✔️ Exchange insights with peers and strengthen your professional network
This workshop is open to representatives of BC First Nations and Indigenous organizations. AFOA BC membership is not required to attend.
